TEXNIC® X HELIOT EMIL
In May 2025, in Hannam-dong, Seoul, Danish experimental designer brand HELIOT EMIL made its first entry into Korea in collaboration with TEXNIC®.
This symbolic partnership goes beyond a simple brand collaboration; it begins with fundamental questions about industrial structures and the essence of technology.
TEXNIC® is a brand that develops high-performance fabrics by recycling separators — a core component of electric vehicle batteries.
These separators, made from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), offer exceptional strength, lightness, and chemical stability. However, many are discarded during production due to microscopic defects.
TEXNIC® gives this material new potential, expanding its technology into fabrics, yarns, and even interior components.
In contrast, HELIOT EMIL builds its sculptural aesthetic by drawing inspiration from industrial structures and technology. Their approach — integrating functionality, form, structure, and narrative into sensorial collections — resonates deeply with TEXNIC®’s technical vision.
This capsule collection was born from that shared understanding.
HELIOT EMIL personally selected three types of TEXNIC® fabrics to create new garment forms.
One of them is TEXNIC®’s signature hard-shell fabric, MOONSTONE. This high-performance material is known for its excellent waterproofness, durability, and subtle moonlit sheen, and it maintains its shape even in extreme weather conditions.
The other two fabrics were specially developed by TEXNIC® exclusively for HELIOT EMIL: one is a natural-textured fabric blending cotton and nylon, and the other is an ultra-thin, lightweight fabric.
These three distinct materials, each with its own character, are combined with HELIOT EMIL’s structural silhouettes to create forms where sharp sensibility and advanced technology coexist.
This pop-up marked HELIOT EMIL’s first entry into Korea, realized through its collaboration with TEXNIC®.
It was more than just a space to showcase collaborative products; it served as a multi-layered stage where the technical structure of materials intersected with the brand’s sculptural sensibility.
Visitors experienced not only the external forms of the garments but also the underlying technology and narrative within them.
TEXNIC® views sustainability not as an outcome, but as a question of “structure.” Rather than simply creating eco-friendly materials, the brand focuses on transforming the technological framework itself.
The collaboration with HELIOT EMIL was a concrete example of how this technology can be translated into sensory experience — a moment that hinted at the future direction of the brand.
This is more than just a collaboration. It is the moment when technology becomes sensation and material carries a narrative. There, TEXNIC® discovered a new path.
